Sex, Illness and Liberation
This workshop will be a mixture of presentation and group activity. I also hope to present a DVD of some research recently completed in the UK of gay mens experiences of living with HIV and Hepatitis C. The illness appears to be a potential route for spiritual engagement and deeper engagement with both self and others. The workshop will look at sexuality and its attendant wounds as a vehicle for transpersonal experience.
Jan Mojsa is a UKCP registered psychotherapist. She is currently completing a doctirate at Bournemouth University. Her work with people living with HIV and HepC is undertaken at Body Positive North West - a project based in Manchester for people affected by HIV. From a Buddhist perspective she is interested in lesbian and gay sexuality as a potential vehicle for deeper transpersonal experience.
